La Dra. Hernández es médico cirujano de la Universidad de Concepción. Realizó su especialización en Pediatría en la Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile y luego su subespecialización en Neurología Pediátrica en la Universidad de Chile. Posteriormente realizó un Magister en Epidemiología en la Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.
